Personal Photo Retouching

The photos that matter most deserve more than a filter. I take your favourite images from a wedding, christening, big birthday or family gathering and make them even better, with the same careful, natural retouching I do for fashion and lifestyle brands.

Why retouch

Edited is not the same as retouched

If a professional photographer covered your event, you will have received a gallery of edited images: colour-graded, exposure balanced and given a consistent look across the whole set. That is the right way to handle a full day's coverage, but it is not retouching. And if the photos came from a friend's camera or a phone, they have probably had no attention at all.

Retouching is slow, image-by-image work. It is what happens to a magazine cover before it goes to print. A stray hair across a face, shine in the midday sun, tired eyes after a long day, a guest's elbow at the edge of the frame, a crease in a shirt. A filter fixes none of these. Careful hands do.

If you have spent two or three thousand euros on a photographer for a wedding or a big family occasion, it is worth taking that one step further. Retouching your ten favourite images costs €600, a fraction of what you spent on the day, and those are the photos that will be printed, framed, given as gifts and looked at for the rest of your life.

Natural, never overdone

I have spent ten years retouching for fashion, beauty and lifestyle clients, including Matthew Williamson. In that world, the best retouching is the kind nobody notices. I bring the same approach to your family photos: no plastic skin, no reshaped faces, no heavy filters. Just the most polished version of a real moment.

Questions

Which photos work best?
Anything with good resolution: files from a professional photographer, a good camera or a recent phone. If you are unsure, send them over and I will tell you honestly what is possible.
What if a professional photographer took them?
Most photography contracts allow clients to make personal edits to their images. Some ask that edited versions are not credited to the photographer or posted with their name. It is worth a quick look at your contract, and if in doubt, just ask. Most photographers are happy for clients to have favourite images retouched.
How many photos should I choose?
Most people choose between 5 and 15: the best portraits, a family group or two, and anything going on the wall or in an album.
Will it look edited?
No. My aim is for nobody to notice. Everyone should look like themselves on a very good day.
How long does it take?
Usually one week for 10 images or fewer. Let me know if you have a deadline, such as a print order or a gift.
Where are you based?
Deià, Mallorca. I work with people everywhere, entirely online.
